Applicants must meet the following requirements: Be in college studying education, child development or a related industry, have a degree in those fields, and/or have at least one year of professional experience working with children and/or young adults with or without disabilities Must pass a national criminal background check, county level criminal check, sex offender search, and motor vehicle check A minimum one-year commitment with a family Legally authorized to work in the U.S. A CPR/First aid certification must be obtained prior to working with a family Babysitters and nannies perform the following duties through

Ensure safety of supervised children at all times Adhere to childrens’ schedule as per parents’ expectations Create and engage in developmentally appropriate activities Assist child in daily routines including but not limited to changing diapers, bottle feeding and/or eating, dressing, brushing teeth, bedtime tasks A nanny is a child care specialist who offers a family convenient and consistent high quality care by meeting each child’s physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs via engaging and developmentally appropriate activities. A nanny is employed on an ongoing basis by one family. They may work full time or part time, long-term or short-term and they may provide live-in or live-out care in the family’s home. A nanny typically has specialized child care skills, a deep understanding of children and a genuine love of caring for children. Nannies In addition, may provide child-related household tasks. — An East Greenwich family is seeking a patient and experienced part time nanny to support their sweet baby girl’s growth and development. She is growing well and is starting to sleep well through the night! The family is looking for a nurturing caregiver who practices safe, evidence-based infant care and can serve as a thoughtful partner in supporting their daughter’s development. The family welcomes the guidance and expertise of a dedicated caregiver to support with child-rearing strategies to support their daughter’s growth. The family encourages a nanny that fosters independent play in their daughter. An early childhood education background or prior experience in daycare settings is a plus. ASL knowledge is also appreciated and may be incorporated to help foster early communication. The nanny will take the lead on daily care routines. In addition to facilitating developmentally appropriate activities (ie. reading, more tummy time), responsibilities include preparing bottle feedings, managing nap times, diaper changes, and indoor/outdoor play. The nanny will also support with an introduction to solids, in conjunction with the father. The father works from home on a separate floor and is available for occasional check-ins and collaboration (ie. introduction to solids). The family asks that the nanny practice strong hygiene and preferably wears a mask while in the home (provided by the family). This is not required by the family.
