Saint James Church is seeking a passionate and gospel-centered Youth Pastor to lead and disciple our middle and high school students. The Youth Pastor will provide visionary leadership, pastoral care, and Christ-centered teaching that helps students grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, and live on mission. We believe youth ministry should be a place w students belong, believe, and be— a space w they can encounter Jesus, have fun, wrestle with real questions, and be equipped to live as lifelong disciples.

Qualifications:

A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear call to youth ministry.
Theological training and ministry experience (formal education or equivalent).
Relational, teachable, and strong inmunication.
Passionate about equipping youth to follow Jesus and serve others.
Able to lead teams, partner with parents, and contextualize the gospel for today’s students.

Primary Responsibilities:

Visionary Oversight & Pastoral Leadership
Provide pastoral care, support spiritual growth, and challenge youth to deepen theirmitment to Christ and His mission.
Develop, equip, and support a youth leadership teamprised of parents and youth.
With the pastoral team, help lead a 9th grade confirmation class.
Plan and coordinate:
Weekly middle school and high school gatherings
Monthly fun and outreach events
Annual summer programs and mission trips
Individualized Support & Mentorship
Provide small group mentoring and personalized discipleship.
Model a Christ-like lifestyle, regularly praying for youth and church members.
Prepare students for professions of faith and baptisms
Build strong, collaborative relationships with parents.
Oversee all youth curriculum.
Integrate youth into various church ministries and activities.
Engage actively with students and leaders during Sunday morning gatherings.
Preparation for Life Beyond High School
Guide youth in identifying spiritual gifts and exploring vocational paths.
Equip students to articulate and defend their faith.
Facilitate student involvement in broader church life, including small groups.
Remain relationally supportive and available as a resource beyond youth ministry years.
Intergenerational Integration
Regularly collaborate with children’s ministry leaders to ensure cohesive ministry transitions.
Participate actively in worship services, staff meetings, and relevant elder meetings.
Opportunities for preaching or worship leadership may be available as appropriate. The Youth Pastor is a full-time position and may work extended hours, evenings, over weekends and public holidays, and on short notice. As a member of the Ministry Team, he/she is supervised by the Executive Pastor and shall be a member of Saint James Church.

Secondary Responsibilities:

Attend all applicable staff meetings as part of staff team.
Fulfill other duties assigned by senior leadership.
