Summary:

Stuart Congregational Church in Stuart, Florida is hiring a Director of Family Ministries. We are a blended Church of around 150 adults, children and students. We are located in Stuart, FL. The Director of Family Ministries Position is an important position in our church and will work closely with our lead Pastor to lead/disciple families. The scope of the position includes:

  • Expand ministry strategies that disciple parents and families in every life stage.
  • Overseeing ministries to Children, Student, and Adults.
  • Serve alongside the Senior Pastor and staff and have an attitude of servanthood.
  • Ensure volunteers are prepared and supported in delivery programs.
  • Be available to address parents’ questions, concerns and suggestions.
  • Support children’s Christian spiritual and social development.
  • Adhere to SCC policies outlined in the SCC Employee Handbook and Child Protection Policy.
  • Promote, implement, and participate in the following children’s programs: o Children’s Sunday School o Youth and children involvement in the Worship Services o Seasonal events (including VBS, Children’s Christmas Pageant) o Outreach initiatives (county school Christian programs, and other community church youth gatherings.

  • Teach and organize small groups for children, students, and adults.
  • Recruit, train, and equip volunteer leaders to lead groups.
  • Grow ministry strategies that focus on the unique needs of parents as their children move through each stage of development.
  • Be open to constructive criticism and coaching. Position structure

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree a plus but not required, AA degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in ministry work.
  • At least 21 years old.
  • Ministry experience that includes working closely with students and families.
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Strong presentation and teaching skills.
  • Strong relational and team building skills.
  • Organizational skills for growing, mobilizing, and maintaining a strong and effective team and program while utilizing an approved curriculum and lesson plan.
  • Strong written communication skills and efficient in technology and “apps” to communicate with parents, students, and church staff.
  • Strong skills maintaining and managing a budget.
