Position SummaryOrlando Health is a 3,200-bed system that includes 15 wholly-owned hospitals and emergency departments; rehabilitation services, cancer institutes, heart institutes, imaging and laboratory services, wound care centers, physician offices for adults and pediatrics, skilled nursing facilities, an in-patient behavioral health facility, home healthcare services in partnership with LHC Group, and urgent care centers in partnership with CareSpot Urgent Care. Nearly 4,200 physicians, representing more than 80 medical specialties and subspecialties have privileges across the Orlando Health system, which employs nearly 22,000 team members. Among many other benefit programs. Benefits do kick in from day one! Position SummaryProvides spiritual and emotional care for patients, their loved ones and team members on assigned unit(s). ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions Requires direct access to Protected Health Information (PHI). The PHI accessed is used for patient treatment, and healthcareoperations purposes through direct contact with patients, family members, patients medical records/charts, computer applications,and verbal reports from healthcare providers, and interaction with various hospital interdisciplinary team members. Documents interventions on the patient chart, including, but not limited to such information as referral source, spiritual assessments, interventions, and follow-up/referral plan. Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary clinical team, participating in patient rounds, case reviews, ethics consultations, and advanced directive consults. Provides crisis intervention and bereavement support for persons experiencing suffering, tragedy, or loss. Performs requested sacramental services, applicable chapel services, and/or arranges for the provision of these services by community clergy. Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. QualificationsEducation/Training Master level theological degree is required, with a Master of Divinity being the preferred degree. Master level equivalent theological degrees may be considered. Accreditation by the Association of Theological Schools preferred or a listing in The Database of Postsecondary Institutions and Programs (ope.ed.gov/dapip/) Four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education for full time, two (2) units of Clinical Pastoral Education for part-time, one (1) unit of Clinical Pastoral Education for pool. All units must be recognized by ACPE, APC, NACC, NAJC, CPSP, CPE-I, or ICPT.Licensure/CertificationOrdination, licensure, or commissioning and endorsement as a chaplain by a religious body listed in the US Defense Department list of Recognized Religions.
