THE OPPORTUNITY
Vinings Church is seeking a passionate and dedicated Student Ministry Director. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and disciple the next generation in a collaborative, team-based environment. Founded in a Firehousemunity room in 2011, Vinings Church mission is to make a way for people far from God to discover a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We seek to unite our historic Christian faith through the beauty of contemporary worship and sound doctrine, which has produced a growing, vibrant church that is changing lives and having a real impact in the city.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a visionary leader who is passionate about partnering with families, investing in students, and helping the next generation find their identity in Christ. Our goal is to help students anchor their lives in the truth of God’s Word and create a culture w we can expect the power and presence of the Holy Spirit to move in our lives. With thousands of students in the Uptown Atlanta Metro seeking direction, we believe the local church plays a crucial role in serving these students and working alongside their families to guide them toward a life rooted in faith, hope, and purpose. The Student Ministry Director will play a vital role on the Family Ministry Team, reporting to the Lead Pastor. In collaboration with the Kids Team, the Director will oversee the development and execution of regular Sunday Middle school gatherings, including a weekly High School student night, focused on discipling students in a fun, engaging, Biblical environment. This leader should bring creativity, energy, and a genuine enjoyment of students, making the church a place students want to be. This leader will also recruit and equip volunteer teams from the congregation to serve and lead within the ministry. Additionally, the director will work closely with parents, schools, and parachurchanizations to strengthen the church’s impact on students’ lives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS
Experience serving in a church student ministry or parachurch ministry is preferred.
Spiritually mature with high character and a deep dependence on both the Word and Spirit of
God.
Must agree with Vinings Church’s doctrinal statement.
Strong leadership,anization, and collaboration skills.
Must be able to make, nurture, and maintain spiritual friendships.
Must be able to work on and build teams, lead upward, and with a clear vision of development and growth.
JOB DUTIES
Weekly Gatherings:
Lead and facilitate the Sunday night gatherings, creating a space for students to build relationships and engage in intentional discipleship opportunities. That includes worship, teaching, small groups, and fun elements aimed at fostering strong relationships.
Team Leadership:
Lead, recruit, equip, and empower the Student Ministry volunteer team, fostering a culture of passion for Jesus, spirit-filled ministry, and evangelistic urgency.
Parent Partnerships:
Establish and maintain strongmunication with parents, involving them in ministry activities, and equipping them to disciple their teenagers.
Community Engagement:
Build and nurture strategic partnerships with local schools andanizations that engage with students, furthering the impact of the Student Ministry.
Collaboration:
Working with both the Vinings Family Ministry and Adults Ministries to create and execute a unified family ministry vision that aligns with Vinings mission and values.
Child Protection Compliance:
Ensure fullpliance with the Vinings Child Protection Policy and report any issues to your direct supervisor immediately. This also includes keeping up-to-date records of background checks and Ministry Safe documentation.
Strategic Event Planning:
Be able to create fun and thoughtful events that help promote and strengthen relationships between students and leaders. This includes Summer Camp, Retreats, and additional events throughout the year.
Manage Administrative Duties:
This includes budgets, calendaring, emailmunications, etc.
