DescriptionACPE, Inc. seeks a Director ofEducation to oversee the primary areas of accreditation,certification, and professional development for theAssociation.
This highly engaged position oversees and ensuresquality delivery of education throughout the organization. The mostsuccessful candidate will possess extensive, first-hand knowledgeof ACPE’s unique experiential learning process with a proven trackrecord of delivering competency-based education to diverse learnerswhile regularly meeting or exceeding accreditation standards. Inthe national office, this individual will manage the Programs Teamand collaborate closely with the Member Engagement Team to provideadequate professional service to ACPE Certified Educators (CE), CECandidates, CPE students, ACPE Psychotherapists, and all otherstakeholders.
Duties & responsibilities include:
Oversee ACPEaccreditation processes and serve as point of contact foraccredited programs, federal partners, and other externalstakeholders regarding accreditation requirements. This includes,but is not limited to: (Co-)Leading temporary Accreditation Task Force to fulfill 2025charge. Collaborating with the Accreditation Commission to support therevision and execution of accreditation functions with obligatoryfollow-through. Monitoring and maintaining compliance with recognitionrequirements (federal, etc.) Ensuring accurate, up-to-date accreditation records aremaintained (i.e., database, directory, review dates, etc.) Ensuring the National Office provides helpful resources forprogram compliance. Overseeing communications with programs related to theiraccreditation status. Assist, when invited by program leaders, with administrativematters. Maintaining the online accreditation manual.
Supervising theACPE certification process, including, but not limited to: Collaborating with the Certification Commission to executecertification functions with proper follow-through. Overseeing professional communications with certificationapplicants and candidates. Liaising with strategic partners, endorsing bodies, certifyingbodies, and other stakeholders (i.e. employment institutions) toensure competencies are on par with market needs. Lead planning advisor for annual CE candidate events. Ensuring the National Office provides helpful resources andprompt responses to requests for information. Maintaining the online certification manual.
Overseeingprofessional development and curriculum development processes,including, but not limited to: Support CEs by coordinating/conducting program curriculumreviews and/or presentations to identify opportunities for updatesin alignment with broader educational standards and the values andobjectives of the Association. Collaborates with the Curriculum Committee to regularly designand implement professional development offerings for all categoriesof CPE-focused membership. Collaborates with the Psychotherapy Commission and staff todesign and implement continuing education offerings forPsychotherapist membership. Oversee the production of professional development resourcesonline and in print.
Staff and Member-Focused Tasks:
Manage Program Team members in accreditation, certification,and psychotherapy (up to 7 employees). Liaise with Accreditation and Certification Commissions andother consultative resources as required (i.e. Professional EthicsCommission) to fully address complaints. Ensure prompt response to all inquiries and speedy resolutionto related process issues. Partner with Executive Director, National Staff, Board ofDirectors, designated members, and stakeholders to achievestrategic goals and objectives annually. Collaborate with staff and volunteers to design and executeeducation, etc. for annual member events. Other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
Familiarity with the needs of and resources for CEs, spiritualcare practitioners, and therapists. Strong relationship cultivation skills with commitment to ahigh level of customer service. Extensive problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipateneeds, determine priorities, and meet deadlines consistently. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience leading teams (staff and volunteer)successfully. Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention todetail. Experience with data analysis and management. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Minimum Requirementscandidates must possess: A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an ACPE CertifiedEducator with extensive knowledge of ACPE accreditation processes,current standards, and a proven track record in the relatedoutcomes. A master’s degree in education, theology, or related field; adoctoral degree is preferred. An ability to attend to significant data and details while alsoproviding analysis to assist the organization, board, andcommissions in their work.
This is a full-time, exempt position.
This position will be hybrid or remote (for out-of-state candidatesonly). Remote will require regular travel to Atlanta for meetingsand events. Travel will also be required for annual member programsand events. Total travel expectation for position up to 50%.Management reserves the right to revise these conditions as neededfor the benefit of the organization.
