LOG CABIN COMMUNITY CHURCH POSITION DESCRIPTION I.
Position Title :
Pastor
- part time
- 2 year commitment
- inter/non denominational.
Salary $1,400 per month. Four paid vacation days per year. II.
Reporting Relationships :
The Pastor reports directly to the Board of Trustees. III.
Position Summary :
Responsible for contributing to the spiritual welfare, overall program, growth and life of the church. Responsible for the oversight and leadership of worship services and special events. IV. Major Duties and Responsibilities A. Preaching and Worship Leadership 1. Prepares and gives weekly sermons that are relevant and seeker sensitive and challenge the congregation to become fully devoted followers of Christ. 2. Ensures that overall weekly worship services are effective and on target regarding content, style, structure and design. Coordinates with music leaders prior to worship services. 3. Suggests and assists with planning of special worship services with the objective of boosting morale and worship attendance. Works with members to ensure timely and proper advertising and publicity. Plans messages that are relevant and attractive for each occasion. B. Vision, Creativity and Strategic Planning 1. Contributes a proactive approach toward identifying problems/challenges and offers creative solutions for resolution. C. Congregational Relations and Pastoral Care 1. Assists with maintaining a “high touch” ministry. Greets people in sanctuary before and after worship services; lingers with people around the church. 2. Personal contact with members and visitors. 3. Places phone calls and emails as needed. 4. Presents special programs when merited. 5. Attends program and social events for various church groups. D. Wedding Ministry•
OPTIONAL 1.
Participates in wedding ceremonies. 2. Conducts pre-marital counseling. 3. Follow-up with couples married in the church. 4. Works with wedding coordinator. The church would like to fill this position no later than July 1, 2025.
