We are searching for ministry leadership, focused on our Kidsway children’s ministry. Kidsway is for birth through 5th grade. Regular activities are Sunday School and a Kidsway service on Sunday mornings plus Adventure Club on Sunday evenings. T are mid-week activities during adult prayer service. Lead and Account for
All Aspects of Kidsway Children’s Ministry:
Organize, market, and run all Kidsway weekly and special events
Special Event Examples:
Vacation Bible School, Christmas Program (w/Worship Pastor)
Steward the Kidsway budget
Find, train, encourage, and bring excitement to Kidsway volunteers
Honor the Lord in Kidsway execution, curriculum, and the relationships built
Continually improve Kidsway ministry, innovating as needed
Understand the times, pressures, and biblical worldview issues facing kids and their parents
Encourage, educate, and embolden parents to train up their kids in the Lord
Ultimately, help kids (and their parents) understand the Gospel and grow spiritually
Lead teacher for children in Kidsway Sunday and Wednesday activities
Promote Sunday School and other church ministries to Kidsway parents
Coordinate with our Youth Pastor for a consistent, cohesive ministry approach across all ages of kids Other responsibilities: Attend and contribute to weekly staff meetings
Assist with other church activities as needed, including hospital and home visits time permitting
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Pastor
Be an active member of Midway Community Church! Secondary Role(s): With our size of church, all staff take on one or more secondary roles based on experience and ability. Some possibilities that will pair with the Children and Families Leadership role: Event Planning
- Stewardship/support of church-wide events (e.g. worship on the grounds)
Facilities oversight - manage contractors, schedule preventive maintenance
Family Discipleship - Develop and mentor family programs, especially as they overlap with children’s and youth ministries (Associate Pastor level only)
Sunday School - Give leadership to adult Sunday School assimilation (Associate Pastor level only)
Occasional Pulpit Supply - Associate Pastor level only
Qualifications:
Training:
Undergrad degree required, preferably from a bible college or seminary
Previous children’s ministry experience
Personal and Spiritual Development:
Love for God’s Word as sufficient, with a consistent hermeneutical approach to the Scriptures
Maximize ministry effectiveness: balancing family, ministry, and rest
Demonstrated growth in Christ
Candidates for Associate Pastor level will meet deacon/elder qualifications found in 1st Timothy 3
Spiritually and professionally accountable to the Midway Elders
In agreement with
Baptist Faith and Message and the Midway Constitution
Young Earth creationism and a historical Adam and Eve
Complementarian view of gender roles within the church
Cessationist view of miraculous / sign gifts
Credobaptism and regenerate church membership
Desire and call to the Great Commission
Jesus as fully man and fully God, sinless, the propitiation of sin, and bodily resurrected
Creative; can execute with limited direction; excellentmunication skills
