Chaplain / Bereavement Coordinator (Contracted Position) Jumpstart Hospice and Palliative Care

Position Summary We are currently seeking a contracted Chaplain / Bereavement Coordinator to provide spiritual care and grief support to hospice patients and their families. This dual-role position is ideal for a compassionate professional who wants to make a meaningful difference on a flexible, part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities As Chaplain:

Provide interfaith spiritual and emotional support tailored to each patient’s values and beliefs Visit patients in their homes, facilities, or care settings Participate in interdisciplinary team discussions as needed Conduct spiritual rituals, services, and end-of-life blessings upon request It is required to attend the bi-weekly IDT meeting. (In-person or virtually)

As Bereavement Coordinator:

Develop individualized bereavement support plans for families following a loss Provide grief counseling sessions and coordinate referrals when needed Maintain contact and documentation for bereavement support up to 13 months post-loss Organize occasional memorials or remembrance events It is required to attend the bi-weekly IDT meeting (In-person or virtually) Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s in Theology, Divinity, Counseling, or related field preferred Prior experience in hospice, healthcare, or pastoral care settings Ability to support individuals from diverse spiritual and cultural backgrounds Strong communication and documentation skills Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Must be able to work independently and manage a flexible schedule What We Offer Flexible hours and autonomy in scheduling Supportive and collaborative interdisciplinary team Opportunity to provide meaningful care during life’s most sacred transitions Competitive contract rates (discussed during interview) Join us in providing comfort, dignity, and support to those who need it most.
