First Baptist Church of McDonough, GA, is prayerfully seeking a full-time senior pastor with dynamic leadership to guide us in our mission of spiritual growth, community outreach, and revitalization. God has blessed our church as we are celebrating our 200th anniversary this year, and although we have a rich history, we are excited to discover who the Lord has chosen to guide us into this new chapter of our ministry. FBC McDonough is located in Henry County, a rapidly growing county in the south metro Atlanta area. With that growth has come a diverse population, which is largely unchurched. We are a mission minded church and believe God is calling us to reach the mission field right here in our own community. We are seeking a senior pastor who is eager to help us build on our strong foundation and lead us with enthusiasm as we seek to follow where God is leading in this new season. Desired Pastoral Traits – Dynamic visionary skills: Have a desire and passion for a church that longs for revitalization and a renewed sense of purpose in the wake of a community growth spurt. Be excited about finding unique ways to engage our community and encourage church members to do the same. – Bold, Biblical, and Spirit-filled preaching: Preach convicting, expository messages that guide the church towards spiritual maturity. We seek a pastor who possesses discipleship skills that can be shared to best equip our church to go and continue making disciples in our community and abroad. – Mature church leadership skills: Have a proven track record of wise leadership and innovation in a leading ministry role(s). Mentor and support fellow church staff members, volunteers, and ministry leaders, fostering a team-oriented culture of service. –

Possess a deep commitment to spreading the love of Christ and His gospel through outreach and supporting local, national, and international mission projects. Our diverse, multi-cultural church body is just a small snippet of who we believe the Lord is calling us to reach. – Leading by example: Lead our church inwardly by being a prayerful, energetic, active member of all church activities. Lead outwardly by being visible in the community and by cultivating relationships and engaging with various schools, organizations, and businesses. –

Value and prioritize the importance of family in church and personal life, uplifting the beauty of worshipping as a body of multi-generational believers. We are seeking a senior pastor who meets the biblical qualifications as stated in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 3:1-7, holds a degree from an accredited seminary or divinity school, and holds to the doctrinal beliefs of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
