Job Description
Due to retirement of Father Dan Brown, a part time position is available in beautiful Madison, Georgia at historic Church of the Advent. Madison is located 1 hour east of Atlanta and 30 minutes from Athens. It is a historic and sophisticated community with plenty of cultural events and shows locally. Madison is the seat of Morgan County on the shores of Lake Oconee. It is located among farms and forests with plenty of outdoor activities located close by.
Lead regular worship services to include Sunday Eucharist & Morning Prayer, as well as weddings, baptisms, and funerals.
Ensure that all worship aligns with the BCP and the teachings of the Episcopal Church; prepare and deliver meaningful sermons that inspire and engage the congregation; offer Christian education as needed; conduct Confirmation and Marriage preparation; provide support and guidance for our outreach committe’s and our pastoral care group who provide compassionate care for parishioners during times of illness, grief, or crisis.
Collaborate with church staff, vestry, and ministry teams to oversee the operational aspects of the church to include budget, finances, and outreach programs in partnership with church leadership.
