Youth Pastor
NEW LIFE PRAISE CENTER
Covington, GA 30014 Job Overview The Youth Pastor is a passionate and committed spiritual leader responsible for leading and discipling middle and high school students (grades 6-12). This role exists to help students discover a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, grow in their faith, and walk in purpose. The Youth Pastor will lead weekly services, plan events, build a leadership team, and partner with parents to spiritually support teens in today’s culture. Key Responsibilities 1. Spiritual Leadership & Teaching Prepare and deliver weekly Bible-based messages that are engaging, relevant, and Christ-centered Lead youth worship services, small groups, prayer nights, and discipleship tracks Teach biblical truths that promote spiritual growth, identity in Christ, and personal holiness Encourage students to love God, love others, and live on mission 2. Discipleship & Mentoring Build intentional relationships with students-mentoring, listening, and offering spiritual guidance Recruit and train volunteer youth leaders and mentors Create systems for student follow-up, spiritual development, and leadership growth 3. Ministry Oversight & Program Development Plan and execute regular youth services, retreats, conferences, outreach events, and mission trips Develop an annual calendar of youth activities that balance fun, faith, and formation Oversee youth ministry budget, resources, and supplies Manage youth check-in and safety processes 4. Parent & Church Collaboration Serve as a bridge between youth, parents, and the broader church Communicate regularly with parents through meetings, emails, and updates Support family discipleship efforts and help equip parents as spiritual leaders at home Collaborate with church staff on cross-ministry efforts (e.g., Next Gen, Sunday services, worship, etc.) Qualifications A deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a strong commitment to biblical truth Bachelor’s degree in ministry, theology, or related field (or equivalent experience) Prior experience leading or serving in youth ministry (2-3 years preferred) Strong communication and preaching skills-relatable to teens and parents Proven leadership, team-building, and organizational abilities Passion for Gen Z and youth culture, with cultural awareness and biblical conviction Ability to connect relationally, lead with humility, and inspire spiritual growth Bonus Skills (Not Required, But a Plus) Worship leading or musical ability Experience using Planning Center, Canva, ProPresenter, or similar tools Social media content creation or digital discipleship Background in counseling, education, or student coaching Values We’re Looking For Spirit-led Servant-hearted Creative and adaptable Fun-loving but spiritually grounded A team player who honors authority and empowers others
