Hospice Chaplain Confidential Baton Rouge, LA Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain to provide spiritual care services to Hospice patients and Families/caregivers in various settings, including healthcare facilities, and private homes within the community. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a deep understanding of Christian counseling principles. This role requires the ability to be present during times of crisis, offering guidance and comfort to those in need. Duties Assures spiritual assessment of patients and families/caregivers in the hospice program and appropriate services are rendered in a timely manner. Provide spiritual support and counseling to patients, families, and staff in a compassionate manner. Engage in crisis intervention, helping individuals navigate difficult situations with empathy and understanding. Conduct public speaking engagements to educate groups on spiritual matters and the importance of emotional well-being. Plan and facilitate events that promote spiritual growth and community engagement. Manage conflicts with sensitivity, employing effective conflict management techniques to resolve issues peacefully. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create comprehensive care plans that address the spiritual needs of patients. Maintains records of spiritual care services utilization and related activities for quality assurance, program development, and policies and procedures review and revision. Qualifications A degree in theology, ministry, or a related field is preferred. Experience in Christian counseling or spiritual care is highly desirable.
