Assesses spiritual needs and provides assistance to patients, families and caregivers upon request. Works in conjunction with healthcare team to identify patients in need of support, prayer, and guidance.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Psychology, Sociology, or related field. Certification in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) preferred or obtained within 2 years of hire. Two years of experience in pastoral ministry, healthcare setting is preferred. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred
Responsibilities:
Gathers and evaluates relevant data pertinent to the patient’s physical, psychological, social, and spiritual health. Provides timely pastoral care and services to those with a recognized need and facilitates the expression of the patient’s and family’s spiritual practices. Enters information into the patient’s medical record that is relevant to the patient’s medical, psycho-social and spiritual goals of care. Respects the confidentiality of information from all sources, including the patient medical record, other team members and family members in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations and rules. Models and collaborates with the organization and its interdisciplinary team in respecting and providing culturally competent patient-centered care, ministers to all persons regardless of faith, race, affiliation or orientation. Participates in facility wide and community spiritual/pastoral care events, workshops, and seminars.
Schedule:
PRN (As Needed) Availability Will provide coverage for evening/night/weekend patient needs
