Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
Spiritual Assessment & Documentation
Use our comprehensive screening tool to identify spiritual/existential needs
Record assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record and KPI tracker
Counseling, Consultation & Education
Provide one‑on‑one spiritual care and facilitate group sessions on grief, moral distress, and end‑of‑life topics
Lead workshops or briefings for staff on recognizing and responding to spiritual distress
Collaboration & Cultural Sensitivity
Partner with clinical teams to integrate spiritual care into each patient’s treatment plan
Honor diverse faith traditions and cultural backgrounds with compassion and respect

Our Ideal Candidate:

Healthcare experience—through work, internships, or volunteer service—in a hospital or care setting
At least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) completed, or a strong willingness to enroll in our in‑house CPE program
Adaptable, resilient, and able to hold space for intense emotions with empathy and grace
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree in Divinity or Theology or equivalent, clinical training in chaplaincy, ordination or commissioning for ministry by a recognized religious group, a current endorsement for chaplaincy by a recognized religious/spiritual group preferred. ACPE Clinical Pastoral Education, at least one unit preferred.

License/Certifications:

Two years of professional ministry in congregation or institutional setting preferred.
