Key Responsibilities Spiritual Formation & Vision Casting Cast the vision for a vibrant Children’s Ministry that enables kids to experience God , not just learn about Him. Create a Christ-centered environment where the gospel is central and children are consistently pointed to Jesus. Prioritize spiritual formation by introducing age-appropriate teaching , including catechism and foundational biblical truths. Celebrate and nurture faith milestones such as personal decisions for Christ, baptism , and parent/child dedications . Weekly Programming & Curriculum Develop and maintain engaging Sunday programming that includes rhythms of worship, teaching, and community. Write or curate custom curriculum as needed, including take-home resources that support faith at home. Ensure consistency in leadership and volunteer roles to foster relational stability for children. Implement check-in/check-out procedures that support safety and security at every age level. Volunteer Leadership & Team Development Build a dynamic team of volunteers through recruiting, training, resourcing , and appreciation strategies . Offer regular encouragement and spiritual investment into the lives of volunteers. Organize and support weekly volunteer teams and equip lead teachers for success. Special Events & Community Building Plan and execute seasonal events such as VBS, Summer Camp, the Daddy-Daughter Dance, and holiday celebrations. Coordinate family events and outings that allow parent/child bonding and faith-building outside of Sunday mornings. Facilitate play-based community activities that foster friendships and belonging among children. Help children feel connected in small groups or ” community cohorts ” within the ministry. Parent Partnership & Communication Collaborate with families and equip parents as primary disciplers in their children’s lives. Come alongside families during important faith conversations, offering ministerial care and guidance. Maintain effective communication with families through email, social media, newsletters, and print materials . Share testimonies, updates, and ministry highlights in the church’s monthly newsletter to keep the congregation connected to what God is doing in Children’s Ministry. Outreach & Community Engagement Represent Grace City Church in the lives of children by occasionally attending school chapels, sporting events, and performances . Build relationships with local schools attended by church families to extend the church’s presence in the community. Collaborate with elders and staff on how to best reach the local community through engagement with local school partnerships . Qualifications A growing relationship with Jesus Christ as evidenced by spiritual maturity and personal devotion. A love for children and a passion to lead them into a lasting faith. Alignment with the mission and theological values of Grace City Church . College degree preferred, especially in education, ministry, child development , or a related field. Experience in Children’s Ministry or a related setting (church, education, youth programming). Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills . Self-motivated with the ability to cast vision and implement systems in a collaborative church environment. Willingness to continually grow in ministry knowledge and practical strategies .
