JOB SUMMARY

Fondren Church is seeking a high-integrity, high-capacity leader to serve as our Executive Pastor. This role is critical in aligning the operations, staff, and systems of the church to carry out our mission. The Executive Pastor will provide oversight for all ministry staff, ensuring that teams are healthy, goals are clear, and follow-through is strong. The Executive Pastor helps lead the staff team and the day-to-day operations of the church. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, experienced team builder, and steady leader who can carry out the vision with clarity and care. They bring strong administrative skills, emotional intelligence, and a passion for leading in a culture that maintains unity and alignment.

PURPOSE:

The Executive Pastor serves to free the Senior Pastor to focus on the four things a Senior Pastor can’t delegate: vision, teaching, culture, and leadership. The Executive Pastor aplishes this in the following ways. 1. Make vision actionable. 2. Lead high-impact teams that embrace both health and performance. 3. Drive core initiatives. 4. Keep the team aligned.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership Responsible for leading the staff in defining strategic goals and action plans. The XP will provide the challenges and actions which will best allow Fondren Church to remain true to its mission and develop new programs so that the church is responsive to identified needs and church health. This leadership will be reflected in many ways, including: Coordinating staff meetings with the Senior Pastor.
Serving as staff liaison to the Board.
Ensuring staffing, facilities, and programs are appropriately aligned to best meet goals.
Fulfilling other pastoral and administrative duties as requested.
Staff Development Provides leadership to the staff team and serves as personnel director for pastors and paid staff. The XP will lead and evaluate, and mentor staff in their respective areas of ministry and prioritize staff additions.

Includes:

Overseeing staff development by mentoring them in the day-to-day.
Assisting staff leaders to define wins, evaluate failure, take notes, ask better questions, and course-correct fast.
Designing and implementing needed changes to theanizational structure.
Implementing the hiring and dismissal process following direction and guidance from the Senior Pastor and the board.
Administration Oversee and carry out the administration of the church through appropriate staff and volunteer leadership teams.

Responsibilities include:

Serving as the chief financial officer
Providing oversight and direction in the large variety of financial functions of the church, including stewardship, cash flow, contributions, insurance, banking and finance, payroll, leases, budget development, and administration.
Overseeing campus development to ensure facilities are appealing and operating with open arms to the church andmunity. Providing oversight to property design and construction.
Ensuring the church’s technology infrastructure is efficient and allows for growth and innovations.
