Divinity Full Job Description Overview:
The Chaplain Non-Certified offers spiritual guidance and pastoral care to patients and their families. Working under close supervision, this role uses the insights and principles of psychology, religion, spirituality, and theology to support and encourage people of all religious faiths and cultures. The role will be primarily located at ARMC in Burlington, NC, with some flexibility needed to cover Behavioral Health needs system-wide – especially at BHUC. This position focuses on Behavioral Health Support.
Responsibilities:
Performs spiritual care visitations to patients to provide consistent spiritual and emotional care. Assesses spiritual needs and provides consultation to patients, families and caregivers in a timely and supportive manner. Writes up notes for the medical staff and makes recommendations to help improve the patient?s mindset and emotional comfort. Contacts clergy or spiritual counselors to assist in spiritual care of patients and family members upon request. Provides emotional and spiritual support to Cone Health employees. Maintains working list of local community resources for spiritual and religious supportive services. Participates in hospital committees and interdisciplinary efforts as requested or assigned in support of the vision and mission of the Spiritual Care and Counseling Department. Provides consultation and offers educational presentations in support of the Clinical Pastoral Education Program and Employee Assistance Counseling Program as requested. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION
Required:
Master’s Degree in Divinity from an accredited seminary or equivalent; Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent.
