This mission-driven role plays a vital part in fostering the spiritual, liturgical, and pastoral life of the campus community. Rooted in our Catholic and Benedictine identity, the Assistant Director supports the holistic development of students and works collaboratively to implement dynamic and inclusive ministry programs that engage the heart, mind, and spirit. The ideal candidate has experience with and a passion for faith formation, liturgical leadership, student mentorship, and interfaith collaboration. This is an opportunity to shape the spiritual life of a vibrant residential college community, while also contributing to institutional goals aligned with Catholic higher education.

Key Responsibilities:

The Assistant Director will support the strategic goals of Campus Ministry by collaborating with the Director to lead planning efforts, assess program outcomes, and integrate ministry initiatives across the College. They will play a central role in liturgical life on campus, overseeing the Liturgical Ministry program, planning and supporting liturgies and special Masses, and assisting with weddings celebrated in the Abbey Church. In addition, the Assistant Director will design and lead faith formation programs and support students’ spiritual development and community engagement. The role also includes providing direct spiritual support through pastoral conversations and spiritual direction, fostering a welcoming and inclusive space for all students. The Assistant Director will lead multifaith initiatives, coordinate religious accommodations, and collaborate with the Office of Diversity & Inclusion and the Intercultural Center on shared programming. The Assistant Director will supervise professional and student staff and serve on committees as needed, contributing to a vibrant and mission-aligned spiritual life on campus.

Qualifications:
Required:

A strong theological foundation and commitment to Catholic higher education. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field preferred. Minimum of two years of professional experience in ministry, preferably within a college or university setting. Demonstrated ability to plan and lead liturgies, retreats, and formation programs. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.

Preferred:

Experience in spiritual direction or pastoral counseling. Familiarity with Benedictine spirituality and traditions. Knowledge of current issues facing college students and young adults. Successful candidates will be able to assist the college in advancing its mission and strategic priorities , which include institution-wide diversity and inclusiveness .
