University Chaplain
AVAILABLE
Immediately. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
SALARY/RANK
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master of Divinity degree from an accredited seminary. Ordination in denominational or church body. Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to generate dynamic program and enthusiastic response to service learning and spiritual life. Experience planning and leading worship services and music ministries. Understanding of student development theory and spiritual formation. Deep commitment to the Christian faith and the ability to relate to students from diverse theological and cultural backgrounds. Demonstrated ability to foster spiritual formation in a university setting. Demonstrated strong organizational and planning skills, with attention to detail and task completion. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong Christian faith, a commitment to the University’s Mission, and a demonstrated commitment to that faith, through his/her professional responsibilities, relationships and the mentoring of students.
RESPONSIBILITIES
University Chaplain provides spiritual leadership and pastoral care to students, faculty, and staff, promoting a Christ-centered environment consistent with the mission and values of the University. The Chaplain oversees chapel programming, supports spiritual development initiatives, and encourages faith integration across campus life. Expands Waynesburg University’s outreach initiatives and strengthen its reputation and influence within the broader faith community. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
