Position Qualifications:

A committed follower of Jesus Christ who demonstrates spiritual maturity and a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ. A member in good standing with a Bible-believing church who would move toward membership with Cornerstone Presbyterian Church. Demonstrated experience leading music teams and worship services that are musically inspiring, Scripture filled, gospel-centered, mission-focused, engaging, and joyful. Strong musical, interpersonal, communication, and administrative skills. Child abuse and criminal background clearances. A desire to learn and collaborate with pastors and ministry staff.

Position Description:

1. Attend church staff meetings, and help integrate the Music Ministry with the life of the church body. Develop objectives, goals, and policies for music ministries in cooperation with the pastors, officers, staff, and ministry leaders. 2. Lead music in worship, in conjunction with other musicians and music teams. 3. Be involved every week in leading, or coordinating the leading, of music for worship. 4. Schedule the music teams who lead each week. 5. Serve as a communication point person for music team leaders and participants. 6. Serve on the “Worship Ministry Team” in planning, coordinating, and implementing worship ministry initiatives. 7. Collaborate with the Pastoral Staff, Session, and other musicians on song selection and related service liturgy. 8. Oversee the recruitment and training of additional musicians. 9. Lead, and/or coordinate, regular rehearsals. 10. Encourage the development of excellence in all areas of worship, including musicianship, musically inspiring gospel liturgy, audio/visual execution, etc. 11. Utilize Planning Center and ProPresenter or other tools to coordinate music in worship. 12. Understand Cornerstone’s value of being Devoted to Worship . The position reports to the Senior Pastor with oversight by Cornerstone’s Session. Worship practices are guided by the “worship white paper” in Cornerstone’s Ministry Plan.
