Exempt Position Summary The Women’s Groups (Area) Pastor/Director at Brookwood Church provides strategic leadership and pastoral care for the church’s women’s group life ministry. This role supports the church’s vision to have regular attenders engaged in spiritually enriching, relationally connected groups. As both a shepherd and systems builder, the Groups (Area) Pastor/Director will recruit, develop, and care for volunteer leaders, design scalable group structures, and serve as a key connection point for adults seeking community and discipleship. Key Responsibilities Pastoral Care & Area Oversight Serve as the primary pastor/director for an assigned geographical or ministry area. Provide spiritual care and relational support to group leaders and participants. Respond to pastoral care needs including prayer, crisis support, and spiritual guidance. Group Strategy & Leadership Implement the overall vision and framework for all types of groups (life stage, affinity, support, short-term, etc.). Design and manage scalable systems that move people from interest to full group integration. Pilot semester-based short-term groups and other innovations to broaden group participation. Leader Recruitment & Development Proactively recruit new group leaders with a focus on younger demographics (young adults, young couples, etc.). Onboard, train, and care for leaders through consistent coaching and reproducible systems. Launch and manage a Group Leader Development Pipeline to support and multiply leaders. Connection Pathways Build clear, easy-to-follow processes for attendees to discover and join groups. Collaborate with Communications to align messaging, visuals, and promotion around group life. Integrate connection opportunities into church events, sermon series, and digital platforms. Team Leadership Lead and develop a team of volunteer coaches; provide consistent support and accountability. Assist with potential future staff hires as the ministry expands. Cultivate a leadership culture of trust, clarity, and shared mission. Cross-Ministry Collaboration Partner with departments such as Teaching, Kids, Students, Care, and Communications to align discipleship efforts. Participate in and help lead church-wide events (e.g., baptism classes, Stakeholders, Learning Communities). Maintain a regular pastoral presence on Sunday mornings. Administration & Metrics Track group participation, leader engagement, and ministry health through reports and metrics. Qualifications Must be female Spiritual and Cultural Alignment Committed follower of Christ with a lifestyle that reflects Brookwood’s mission and values. Subscribes to and upholds Brookwood’s Statement of Faith. Willing to become a Brookwood Member within six months of hire. Education & Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in ministry leadership, group development, or people systems. Bachelor’s degree required; seminary or theological education preferred. Familiarity with church management systems (e.g., Rock, Planning Center) preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong interpersonal and pastoral care skills with high emotional intelligence. Proven ability to build, implement, and manage scalable systems. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to lead through influence, collaboration, and vision-casting. Competency in the ability to actively seek out and engage potential volunteers and leaders through relationship-building and targeted outreach. Comfortable working cross-departmentally and managing multiple priorities.
