Chinese Pastor-in-Training Position Available In Horry, South Carolina

Job Description:

• Pastor-in-Training will participate in consistentcoaching/mentoring sessions with staff and Interested in learning more about this job Scroll down and find outwhat skills, experience and educational qualifications areneeded. leadership of Living Water Baptist Church to guide personal andministry development
• Pastor-in-Training will serve in various Pastoral Ministryroles in Living Water Baptist Church including but not limited to: Preaching, Teaching, ChurchAdministration, Care and Counseling, Pastoral Visitations, Outreach, Worship Planning, and any otherduties deemed beneficial by the Pastoral Staff of Living Water Baptist Church.

Being Licensed tothe Gospel Ministry affords the Pastor-in-Training the rights and responsibilities to theseduties.

• Pastor-in-Training will work to identify and engage Chinesespeaking residents in/around Horry County, SC and submit quarterly reports to Living Water BaptistChurch leadership and South Carolina Baptist Convention Church Planting Team concerningcontacts with Chinese speaking people in the area as well as Pastoral Ministry involvement toprovide progress updates.
• Pastor-in-Training will participate in ongoing trainingopportunities with other church planters and residents provided through the ministry of the partneringchurches of the Southern Baptist Convention, the South Carolina Baptist Convention, the WaccamawBaptist as Association well as meeting with other pastors/church planters in the state/regionas well as other Chinese speaking churches and pastors.

This will assist with growth as apastor/church planter

• Pastor-in-Training will work to satisfy the necessary stepsdefined by the South Carolina Baptist Convention Church Planting team and Living Water Baptist Church toprepare for launch of the church plant (i.

e. Church Planter Training, Church PlanterCoaching, and any items identified in the Church Planter Assessment for attention) Pastor-in-Trainingwill lead/partner with Chinese speaking Christians already involved in Bible study together tolead them through the process of starting a Chinese speaking Church.

• Pastor-in-Training will identify Chinese speaking residentsthroughout Horry County in hopes of sharing the Gospel and inviting them to learn more about thepotential church plant.
• Pastor-in-Training will participate in the 11 Training Sessionsprovided by the

SCBC/NAMB

covering 12 competencies

• Pastor-in-Training will work to grow in the areas defined bythe Church Planting Assessment. The Coaching and Mentoring by the Living Water Baptist Church Staffas well as the Church Planting Team of the South Carolina Baptist Convention will helpdetermine a specific plan to grow in these defined areas
• Pastor-in-Training will begin to develop a prayer list ofpastors, potential individual partners/team members, and churches to prepare for the potentialChurch Plant
• Pastor-in-Training will attend staff meetings with the LivingWater Baptist Church Pastoral Staff and meetings with various leadership/staff members at Living WaterBaptist Church (at the request of church staff)
• Pastor-in-Training will prepare weekly sermons/lessons duringthe duration of the position. This will give the candidate valuable experience in Bible study, sermonpreparation, teaching preparation, and create a library of sermons/lessons for bothcurrent and future use.
• Pastor-in-Training will meet consistently with designated staffmember (Associate Pastor) for coaching/mentoring
• Pastor-in-Training will keep consistentoffice hours at Living Water Baptist Church as part of a 40-hour work week
• Pastor-in-Training will spend some (not to exceed 50%) workhours a week networking with other churches and building relationships with other Chinesespeaking residents.
• Pastor-in-Training will provide a detailed timeline for thepotential Chinese church plant (beginning with God’s call on his life and culminating with launchof church plant)
• Pastor-in-Training will develop a budgeting strategy & work ona budget for the first year/5 years of the church plant for financial growth

Requirements:

• Masters of Divinity, Theology, or Pastoral Studies
• South Carolina Baptist Convention/North American Board TrainingSessions (11 total)
• Licensed and/or Ordained to the Gospel Ministry
