Job Description
The Church of the Good Shepherd in Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, seeks a full-time Rector who:
- can preach from a solid foundation of Christian scripture, tradition, and reason
- prioritizes spiritual and theological teaching
- will lead us by a model of Christ-centered living.
The ideal candidate for our parish is a thoughtful communicator, has well-developed and purposeful management skills, and is quick with a smile or a laugh.
Although we are a parish of individuals who value independent thinking, we also strive to grow as a Christian community whose leader is focused on developing consensus, identifying and celebrating shared values, and championing inclusivity.
We wish to foster friendship and fellowship at church events and have the ubiquity of a caring clergy during challenging moments in the life of Good Shepherd and in the individual lives of its parishioners.
We seek to honor the humble roots of our church and maintain what has made it special, but we cast our eyes to the future of what it can still become. Our hope and our prayer is for God to call to us a leader shares our vision.
