Job Summary:

We are seeking a relational, innovative, and Christ-following Children’s and Family Pastor to lead and grow our children’s ministry. This part-time position (with the potential to become full-time) offers an exciting opportunity to disciple the next generation and support families in their faith journeys. Candidates should have a heart for ministry, experience with children or youth in a church setting, and alignment with the core beliefs of Shady Grove Church.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead children into a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Plan and lead weekly Children’s Church during Sunday morning worship
• Organize and implement a vibrant, week-long Vacation Bible School each summer
• Recruit, equip, and support a team of dedicated volunteers
• Communicate regularly with families and the broader church community
• Build trusting relationships with children, families, and church members
• Cast and communicate a compelling vision for children’s and family ministry
• Be flexible and willing to serve as needed within the church

Qualifications:

• A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear testimony of His saving work
• A life that reflects a consistent Christian walk
• A calling to ministry (ordination not required)
• Agreement with the Global Methodist Church’s doctrinal standards
• Experience in children’s or youth ministry preferred
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Collaborative, team-oriented mindset
