Minister to Youth/Associate Pastor Position Available In Montgomery, Tennessee

Position Description:

Our Minister to Youth/Associate Pastor will develop and implement a plan to reach youth (grades 6th-12th) with the Gospel, teach saved youth to live out their faith, train maturing youth in how to use their spiritual gifts and their talents to serve the Lord, send the more spiritually mature youth into a variety of opportunities to gain experience ministering to others, and will assist and support the Senior Pastor in various tasks and projects as needed.

Qualifications:

1. Will have a solid testimony of salvation and faith in Jesus Christ. 2. Will have a testimony of God’s call into ministry. 3. Will have at least some formal education, training and/or experience in one or more of these education paths: Divinity, theology, youth ministry, youth guidance. 4. Possesses a desire to help youth grow a mature faith in Jesus Christ. 5. Agrees with the Baptist Faith & Message.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Invest at least 28 hours per week into the youth ministry at PVBC. 2. Develop an outreach ministry to the youth in this community. 3. Assimilate the youth into the overall life of this church and its ministry. 4. Lead the youth Sunday School either by teaching or equipping teachers. 5. Comply with all “Safe-church” regulations so as to maintain the integrity of this church. 6. Lead in Wednesday night youth programs either by teaching or leading other youth workers in the ministry on Wednesday night. 7. Plan other youth events such as summer youth camp with the purpose of growing our youth ministry numerically and in spiritual depth. 8. Counsel students and their families about spiritual matters such as salvation, spiritual growth, college choices, life-mate choices and other such topics. 9. Intentionally look for ways to inspire the youth to serve on mission. 10. Be active in the community, such as sporting events where our students and their peers might be involved. 11. Implement changes in the youth ministry as needed for organization, space use, equipment and furnishing needs, policies and procedures, materials, programs, curriculum, education methods after coordination with Youth Team and our Pastor. 12. Work with the Financial Team annually to develop a budget for the youth ministry. 13. Work with our Sunday School Director to enlist and train workers. 14. Oversee youth fundraising efforts with the help of the Youth Team. 15. Will be accountable to the Senior Pastor and the rest of the church through him. 16. May lead or assist leading services, including preaching & teaching. 17. Will be responsible for keeping an accurate log of hours (events, ministering, teaching, prepping, etc.). 18. Participate in staff meetings as needed.

Salary:

$32,700.00 annually
