As a Residential Aide, employees care for clients in a group home setting working with individuals on living skills, social and financial skills, and treatment direction/follow through all while being a key support staff to our therapeutic team. Our RAs will learn proper documentation techniques and other state/federal standards followed by the Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH). This is a part-time position working Saturdays and Sundays, 4:00PM – 12:00AM. What you’ll be doing: In the absence of the House Supervisor, assume supervisory authority of the direct care of the residents in the facility. Provide consistent instruction, guidance, encouragement, and reinforcement to the residents of the home. Regularly implement basic living skills training objectives and document resident’s progress in a timely manner in the Electronic Health Record. Help coordinate resident activities in the home and community. Regularly complete documentation of staff notes, incident reports, injury reports, shift observations, and other reports in a timely and accurate manner. Regularly encourage and assist residents in the preparation of nutritious meals in accordance with the posted menus and complete meal preparations if residents cannot. May be required to lift approximately 50 lbs. Ensure residents comply with home rules, maintain a clean and safe environment to include the performance of housekeeping, assist clients where necessary. Demonstrate good safety skills, including fire drills, emergency procedures, and back safety techniques. Promote a positive work environment, including positive relationships with supervisors, residents, and their families and/or co-workers Administration of medication was supervised and documented. Attend staff meetings, in-service meeting and training as required and remains current on all training/certifications. Work as scheduled, correctly complete and submit time sheets, and leave requests in a timely manner. Report any facility or maintenance issues in a timely fashion, and assist in maintaining the facility, equipment and vehicles.
