Resident Assistant- Evening & Night Shifts 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars 1009 Line St NE, Decatur, AL 35601 Evening Shift 10p-2p Night Shift 10p-6a Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to residents in a long-term care environment, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. As a Resident Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with varying needs, including those with dementia. Your commitment to delivering exceptional care will make a significant difference in the lives of our residents. Responsibilities Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing. Under the direction of the Nurse, provide medication administration as prescribed and ensure proper documentation. Implement behavior management strategies to support residents with emotional or behavioral challenges. Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation to promote mental stimulation and social interaction. Monitor resident health and report any changes or concerns to nursing staff or management. Support residents with mobility and transfers while ensuring their safety at all times. Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by adhering to health and safety protocols. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing staff and social workers, to develop personalized care plans. Experience Ideal candidates will possess experience or training in caregiving within a nursing home or personal care home setting. Familiarity with memory care practices, and dementia care techniques, is highly desirable. Skills in behavior management are beneficial for effectively supporting our diverse resident population.
