JOB DESCRIPTION
The Desk Assistant for Graduate & Family Housing within Housing and Residence Life is responsible for: Serve as the first point of contact for current residents, families, and guests answering incoming phone calls, emails or assisting guests in the residential area offices resolving any questions or concerns
Maintain and update area office records and materials keeping resident information correct
Assist with providing temporary residential and mailbox keys for residents Maintain knowledge and awareness of safety systems, procedures, protocols, and other emergency action procedures; complete incident reports as needed
Submit iService requests for Custodial Services and Maintenance assistance on behalf of residents, families, or as needed in residential facilities
Organize and maintain office space, storage spaces and common areas
Act as an ambassador for Housing and Residence Life as well as the University of Florida providing accurate information and campus resources
ADVERTISED SALARY
$13.00 per hour
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and must maintain a 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated experience with customer service Ability to critically analyze situations and actively problem solve
Ability to work well within a team and with individuals to build positive relationships
Demonstrated dependability, attention to detail, timeliness, and professionalism Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written communication) Ability to commit to working 10 hours or more per week This position may require shift times on evenings, weekends, university breaks, and holidays
