Job Description
Position Summary The Residential Dorm Advisor is responsible for providing proper guidance to students to ensure positive group living relations and achievement in the Job Corps program. This position involves monitoring dormitory safety, assisting with unit activities, and providing counseling and support to students. The advisor plays a key role in fostering a positive living environment and promoting career success standards among students. Responsibilities Provide guidance for students to achieve a positive attitude and proper behavior in dormitory living situations Determine, recommend, and arrange student visits to counselors Assist in unit activities, including unit government Patrol and monitor dormitories to ensure safety and proper behavior of students Prepare daily operations reports and administrative correspondence relating to students Direct students in the cleanup and maintenance of the dormitory Recommend or requisition supplies for dorm living and student safety Maintain dormitory and individual student files, ensuring they are complete and updated Enter student case notes in the center information system Provide guidance, counseling, and independent living skills to students . QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. A minimum of one-year Job Corps or related program experience required. A valid in-State Drivers License preferred. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching.
