Responsible for providing proper guidance to students to ensurepositive group living relations and achievement in the Job Corpsprogram. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanceddegrees preferred. A minimum of one-year Job Corps or relatedprogram experience required. A valid in-State Driver’s Licensepreferred. Physical requirements include sitting, standing,climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying,reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order toask for necessary assistance. Qualifications o Provide guidance forstudents to achieve a positive attitude and proper behavior indormitory living situation and to accomplish their goals andobjectives. o Determine, recommend, and arrange student visits tocounselor. o Assist in unit activities, as designated, includingunit government. o Patrol and monitor dormitories and center asrequired ensuring safety and proper behavior of students; resolvepotential or occurring problems. o Prepare the daily operationsreport, pass list, and other administrative correspondence relatingto students. o Direct students and assist in the cleanup andmaintenance of the dormitory. o Recommend or requisition suppliesto provide needs for dorm living and safety of students. o Maintaindormitory and individual student files; ensure files are complete,updated and contain all required documentation. o Enter studentcase notes in the center information system. o Participate incareer development services system by ensuring a safe livingenvironment and creating positive peer leadership role modelingtechniques within the dorm. o Provide guidance, counseling, groupsessions and independent living skills. o It is expected theincumbent will work overtime when directed to do so. o Regular andpredictable attendance is required. o Provide positive, qualitycustomer services to students, staff and other center customers. oSupport, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.o Promote the development of career success standards by modelingappropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary andmonitoring both positive and negative behaviors throughinterventions. o Other duties as assigned. “Adams and Associates,Inc. abides by the requirements of 41 CFR §§ 60-1.4(a), 60-300.5(a)and 60-741.5(a).
