Position Information Title AY25-26 Graduate Assistant – Residence Life and Housing, Apartments
Position Description The Graduate Assistant (GA) will work 20 hours per week and receive up to 24 credits of tuition and student fee waivers: 9 for fall, 9 for spring and 6 for summer.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Residence Life:

Provide functional supervision to the four resident assistants on the Great Hill Student Apartments staff.
Participate in the recruitment, selection and training of paraprofessional staff members.
Support and promote student awareness of the opening and closing plans for the Great Hill Student Apartments at the beginning and end of each semester, vacation period
Assist RAs with roommate conflicts and mediations as necessary.
Maintain the supply and RA programming budget for the Great Hill Student Apartments.
Assist with health and safety inspections of student rooms with the RA staff and coordinate maintenance requests as necessary.
Coordinate all individual and damage billing for assigned residential area monthly.
Oversee the completion of Room Condition Reports for the assigned residence hall.
Attend all staff meetings and professional development sessions as determined by Residence Life and Housing and/or the Division of Student Life.
Support and attend University events and programs.
Maintain social media outlets for the Great Hill Student Apartments.

Programmatic:

Assist with the implementation of intentional programs, services and activities that meet the unique needs of all students.
Support the recruitment of student attendance at meetings and the activities of Residence Hall Association.
Conduct necessary residential hall meetings for students as needed (i.e. opening each semester)

Community Standards:

Be aware of and enforce University and residence hall policies; coordinate with University Police and other offices as needed.
Ensure compliance with University, local, and state policies regarding alcohol and drugs.

Other Duties:

Counsel individual students regarding personal concerns and issues.
Serve as a role model and mentor for students.
Assist with office projects and initiatives as assigned by the Director of Residence Life and Housing or designee.
Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Ability to attend and support programming, meetings and events that occur during evening hours and on the weekend.
Ability to use computer programs and software systems.
Ability to effectively communicate in written and oral forms. Preferred Qualifications Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree Required.
Applicants must be accepted into one of the University’s graduate programs to be eligible to receive a graduate assistant position. Preference will be given to students who have applied to and have been accepted into the Counselor Education – Student Affairs or Higher Education Administration program by the College of Graduate Studies application deadline.
Paraprofessional University residence hall administration and programming experience preferred
Ability to use and learn computer programs.
Ability to communicate in written and oral forms.
