The Assistant Resident Engagement Director is responsible for the coordination and implementation of daily programming in the Assisted Living or Memory Care Program as designated. Under the direction of the Engagement Director, this person also assists in monthly calendar development, the dining experience (Avita only), environmental safety and cleanliness. The Assistant Resident Engagement Director delivers services to the residents as needed and works collaboratively with the Resident Care Department. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in the geriatric field.

Responsibilities:

Coordinates implementation of established calendar and ensures timely start of each program.
Actively supports programming collaboration throughout the entire Assisted Living Community.
Observes and supervises other activity assistants in program implementation and provides direction and assistance as needed to ensure success, as directed by the Engagement Director.
Completes Resident History and Preference Questionnaire as directed and utilizes information in resident program development to ensure resident satisfaction.
Assists in development of the programming section of the service plan with Resident Care and Engagement Directors, ensuring compliance with State regulations.
Collaborates and maintains routine communication with families by taking pictures and communicating programming successes of a resident, as directed.
Assists with orientation and in-service programs as directed.
Able and willing to drive the Community Van.
Motivates residents to take advantage of program offerings.
Assists with development of quality newsletter and calendar of events each month on a timely basis.
Additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

Training and knowledge of recreational activities.
Training and knowledge of memory impairments.
Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and the public.
Ability to be flexible and work in an environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.
Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
