  • 20,•21,•22,•23, | Best Places to Work in Construction 2023 The Assistant Project Manager (APM), Construction Services supports our project delivery team on military housing construction projects.

The APM assists the Project Manager in overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial or residential construction projects. This role is designed for individuals ready to grow into a Project Manager role and who bring strong organizational and communication skills to a dynamic team. This position is based on-site at Fort Bragg, NC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Coordination & Administration + Assist in managing day-to-day project operations and communications. + Support project start-up activities, including permits, mobilization, and preconstruction documentation. + Track and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and shop drawings in a timely manner. + Coordinate with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors to facilitate project execution. Scheduling & Planning + Work with the Project Manager and Superintendent to develop and maintain project schedules. + Monitor progress against the schedule, identifying potential delays or conflicts early. + Assist in coordinating project logistics, including deliveries, inspections, and material tracking. Cost Management + Help prepare and maintain project budgets, cost reports, and forecasts. + Review subcontractor and vendor invoices for accuracy and coordinate timely payment processing. + Track change orders and help prepare documentation for client review and approval. Subcontractor Management + Distribute plans, specifications, and other contract documents to subcontractors and vendors. + Support the procurement process by soliciting and evaluating subcontractor bids. + Coordinate subcontractor activities to maintain compliance with project scope, schedule, and safety. Document Control + Maintain and update project documentation including drawings, specifications, logs, and reports. + Assist in managing digital platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, or other construction management software. + Ensure all project records are complete and organized for handover or closeout. Quality & Safety + Support quality assurance activities through inspections and compliance checks. + Reinforce adherence to safety protocols and documentation requirements on-site. + Participate in safety meetings and assist in maintaining safety logs and reports. Project Closeout + Assist with final inspections, punch list completion, and turnover documentation. + Coordinate O&M manuals, warranty letters, and as-built drawings. + Help ensure all closeout deliverables are received and filed correctly

Qualifications:

+ Minimum 4-year degree in an accredited construction related program or equivalent; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Demonstrated skills in construction project management. + Experience in general contracting. + Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and processes. + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and email; and must have the capability of becoming proficient with various programs and applications related to the work such as Smart Sheet, Procore, Building Connected, and other project management software. + OSHA 30, or ability to acquire, is required. + Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. + Excellent verbal and written communication + Ability to multitask, manage priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay & Benefits:

The anticipated compensation range for the position is $70,000 to $85,000, is based on a full-time schedule, market and business conditions, and is commensurate on individual education, qualifications, and experience.
