Job Summary:

The Residential Specialist is responsible for providing support to individuals living in residential programs, ensuring that they are given the tools and services necessary to achieve their personal goals and live in a safe, supportive, and community-oriented environment. The role involves case management, advocacy, and coordination of services to ensure residents’ needs are met. This position also requires assisting with daily operations and activities, fostering a positive environment for personal development and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to residents in daily living activities such as personal care, life skills training, and maintaining a clean and organized living space
  • Assist in creating and implementing individualized service plans for each resident, ensuring they receive the appropriate support
  • Monitor and document residents’ progress towards goals and report any changes to supervisors or relevant staff
  • Build positive relationships with residents, offering encouragement, support, and guidance
  • Coordinate and facilitate group activities, events, and educational programs that promote social interaction, community engagement, and skill development
  • Assist in resolving conflicts and addressing any behavioral issues that may arise
  • Work closely with external service providers, such as mental health professionals or healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive care for residents
  • Maintain accurate records of residents’ behaviors, activities, and any incidents that occur
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations and safety standards related to the residential facility and its operations
  • Provide 24/7 emergency support and be on-call as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Previous experience working with individuals in a residential setting, preferably in a supportive or case management role
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude toward individuals with diverse backgrounds and needs
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, safety protocols, and best practices in residential care is a plus
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift to 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and aid as needed.
Work Schedule:

Full-time, Flexibility may be required, including evenings and weekends, depending on program needs.
