This is a sleep shift position, meaning the staff member may sleep while on duty but must remain on-site and be available to respond to any emergencies or resident needs throughout the night.
Key Responsibilities:
Remain on-site and accessible during the entire overnight shift. Conduct periodic safety checks of the home as required (e.g., every 2-3 hours). Respond promptly to any resident needs, emergencies, or unusual behavior. Document overnight incidents, behaviors, and safety checks in the communication log. Ensure the home remains secure throughout the night (e.g., locked doors, alarms set). Communicate with the day staff about any relevant overnight occurrences. Maintain a calm and supportive atmosphere within the home. Assist with early morning routines as needed (wake-up assistance, preparing light breakfast, etc.).
Qualifications:
At least 21 years of age. High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience in a residential setting, caregiving, or similar role preferred. CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain upon hire). Ability to remain calm and think clearly in emergency situations. Reliable transportation and ability to remain punctual. Background check and drug screening required.
Schedule:
Overnight hours (e.g., 10:00 PM – 8:30am), with flexibility as needed. Primarily a sleeping shift with occasional wake periods.
