ResidentialCoordinator Summary:

The Residential Coordinator directs andcoordinates activities of the residential advisors on assignedshift. Coordinator is responsible for residential activities withinthe dormitory providing for maximum program coordinator, studentdiscipline and preparation of records and reports.

ResidentialCoordinator Responsibilities Include:

Maintains a safe and cleandorm environment. Assist in the training and evaluation ofresidential living staff. Communicate with families of students bymail and phone as required to resolve problems and assure thewell-being of students. Coordinate activities of dormitoryincluding entertainment, dorm competitions, etc. Provideshigh-quality supervision and management for the student populationand positively influences student behavior. Shows respect andcourtesy to students and holds them accountable for their actionsand behavior. Identifies problems, analyzes causes and evaluatesappropriate solutions prior to taking or recommending actions.

Follows up to ensure prompt/appropriate action is taken and thatproblems are in fact corrected. Works in partnership with stafffrom all Departments to ensure effective supervision and servicesare provided to students. Provide transportation as needed.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma orequivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. A minimum ofone-year Job Corps or related program experience required. A validDrivers’ License preferred. Physical requirements include sitting,standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing,carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates theability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the liftload in order to ask for necessary assistance.
