Part-Time About the Role The Life Skills Professional is responsible for client support through direct interaction throughout shift; collaboratively and actively assisting and supporting the participants of the program in the development of Life/Recovery Support/Coping/Daily living skills. Facilitate and document life skills groups, implementing the activities on the monthly calendar; promote and enhance the trauma-informed culture of the program and the establishment and attainment of goals identified in the resident’s treatment plan. There are 3 Part-Time Overnight positions available through the Montgomery County Residentials Program. Below are schedules and site options with descriptions.

Haws Avenue:

Positive Resolutions Site

  • Norristown 24 hours per Week
  • Schedule:

    Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday 11pm-7am (Overnight Shift) Yale Site

  • Bryn Mawr 24 hours per Week

Schedule:

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 11pm-7am (Overnight Shift)

Butler Pike:

New Options Site

  • Conshohocken 16 hours per Week

Saturday & Sunday 11pm-7am (Overnight Shift) Site Descriptions Positive Resolutions, within Montgomery County Residentials, is dedicated to enriching the lives of mentally ill adults by focusing on reducing the barriers to reaching their fullest potential and establishing supportive partnerships in recovery-oriented settings. Positive Resolutions is designed to support optimal personal, spiritual and social growth by facilitating activities that focus on skill development, wellness, and independence in residential settings. The Young Adult Learning Environment (YALE), within Montgomery County Residentials, reduces barriers to independence and community involvement within a recovery-oriented residential setting. YALE provides educational, vocational, and social supports to better meet the needs of younger individuals 18 to 22 years old. Started 1981. New Options, within Montgomery County Residentials, currently has two sites. The Powell Street Site is a licensed personal care home that promotes clients’ independence and integrity by providing a supportive community environment for elderly individuals who have mental health challenges, and who had been institutionalized. The Butler Pike site focuses on reducing barriers to independence and community involvement within a recovery-oriented residential setting. Individuals at Butler Pike are supported in finding employment and independent housing when they feel they are ready. Responsibilities Intervene in crisis and document all critical incidents. Review site’s required documentation for completion and accuracy, i.e., observation checks, MARs, daily shift notes. Support PIRs in maintaining the physical plant by monitoring and inspecting their household chores, teaching/assisting/monitoring activities of daily living, completing searches, safety protocols and monitoring, communicating maintenance needs, facilitating fire drills Model effective communication and coping skills and prompt practice of skills from identified evidence based practices including DBT, Seeking Safety, SMART model Assist participants with identifying recovery-oriented goals and activities Works in cooperation with other agencies in the service delivery system to ensure coordinated, continuous and effective services for the rehabilitation of the participants. Assess program participant’s strengths, differing skills and abilities, to determine the best approach and learning style that can help increase skill development of each program participant. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Possess High School Diploma/GED 2 years of experience in the social service field.
