Residential Life Coordinator 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 400 Magnolia Street, Orangeburg, SC 29115 The Residential Life Coordinator reports to the Area Coordinator of the assigned residence hall and assumes responsibility for ensuring the successful functioning of the residence hall as an educational environment consistent with the Guiding Principles and Mission of the University. The Residential Life Coordinator will manage the day-to-day functions necessary to maintain an efficient residence ball by performing duties, such as, maintaining records and files, participating in meetings and conferences, coordinating and preparing required documents, reports and communications, interacting with residents, and providing assistance as needed/assigned by the Residential Life Manager. The Residential Life Coordinator will assist in the selection, training, and evaluation of Residential Life Assistants; opening and closing of the residence hall at the beginning and end of the academic year and during vacation breaks; conducting room inspections; and assuring the effective functioning of the residence hall desk operation. The Residential Life Coordinator will communicate, explain, and enforce procedures, rules, and regulations of the University with regard to residents and staff; initiate process for resolution of conflicts; mediate conduct matters by investigating incidents and meeting with residents; work with staff and residents to develop a community environment in the residence hall(s); attend and participate in all professional staff training; and attend various departmental meetings on a weekly/biweekly basis. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. Previous residential life/student life experience preferred but not required. Ability to independently manage operational guidelines and processes, coordinate and implement depa1tmental agenda, organize activities and assignments, operate a computer, and interpret policies and procedures required. Must possess exceptional customer service, decision making, and interpersonal relation and communication skills (oral/written).
