Live-In Residential Advisor Duties This home is a level 2 ‘M’ with a managed environment, house rules, and appointed resident leader. This person is critical for enforcing rules, providing support, and ensuring a stable environment. Daily Responsibilities Conduct Random Drug Tests (urine tests, breathalyzers). Enforce Curfew & Check-Ins (log entries for compliance). Lead House Meetings
- Recovery check-ins (accountability circles). Life skills workshops (budgeting, job prep). Mediation & Crisis Management
- Handle disputes between residents. Call emergency services if relapse/overdose occurs. Administrative Tasks Track Attendance (AA/NA meetings, chores, curfew). Manage Move-Ins/Move-Outs
- Interview new applicants (background checks). Inspect rooms before refunding deposits. Communicate with Local Rehabs/Therapists
- Build referral networks (Pathways, ASAP, drug courts). Safety & Compliance Nightly Bed Checks (ensure all residents are accounted for). Fire & Safety Drills (monthly practice). Report Violations to Ownership
- Document incidents (written reports).
Recommend expulsions if needed. Ideal Candidate Profile Associates degree preferred but not mandatory if experience is strong. Minimum 2 years of experience in: Sober living/residential care (as staff, not resident). Mental health/substance abuse counseling (case manager, behavioral tech, etc.). Crisis intervention (homeless shelters, group homes, rehab centers). Licensing & Certifications (Preferred) Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) or Peer Recovery Support (even if not in recovery themselves). First Aid/CPR Certified (required for emergencies). Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training (helps with de-escalation). Background Check & Drug Test (clean record required). Key Skills & Traits Strong Boundaries
