JOB TITLE

Residential Technician

SUMMARY:

Direct residential care provider in a group home OR facility environments that includes awake 24/7 staff. Provides direct care, including working with external support systems such as families, for individuals that may include assistance with acquisition, retention or improvement in skills related to activities of daily living, such as personal grooming and cleanliness, bed making, and household chores, attending school and completing homework in adolescent setting. Also provide assistance with social and adaptive skills including problem solving and coping with behavioral issues and trauma, to enable the individual to increase community tenure in the appropriate community setting.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:

High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree in mental health field preferred.

Licensure:

Valid driver’s license.

Certification:

N/A

Experience:

Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health or substance use disorders preferred.

Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations.
Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
Verbal/written communication skills.

EQUIPMENT

Computer, fax, copier, motor vehicle, household appliances and any other equipment required to perform the functions of the position.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide oversight and monitoring of individuals served behavior and activities.
2. Prompt and coach individuals with daily living needs such as, bathing, cleaning, social interaction, etc. as needed by each individual.
3. Must successfully complete medication training and deliver medication to individuals as prescribed with appropriate documentation. (as required by site needs)
4. Drives a 15-passenger van and maintains a safe driving record.
5. Record/chart pertinent information and observations, resident discussions, plans, progress, skills and abilities.
6. Implement individualized plans, collect data and submit to supervisor in a timely manner.
7. Coordinate residential and community socialization activities as selected by individuals.
8. Maintain the environment in a neat and clean manner.
9. Maintain inventory lists and alert supervisor of any low inventories and special needs.
10. Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings and in-services and individual program planning staffings as needed.
11. All other duties as assigned.
