Family Support Specialist (1099 Contract Role)
Location:
Community-based services in Cherokee, Cobb, Fulton, Paulding, Douglas, Dekalb, Gwinnett, and surrounding counties. Our home office is in Marietta, GA.
Position Type:
Contract, Fee-for-Service Pay Rate:
$18 – $23 per hour plus .60/mile (mileage reimbursement) (Higher pay based experience and full-time)
Commitment:
Minimum of 15 hours per week. Variety of cases available mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Part-Time and Full-Time available

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Behavior Aide to join our team as an independent contractor. This role involves providing direct behavioral aide services, maintaining accurate documentation, and coordinating with case managers. As a 1099 contract position, you will manage your own taxes and benefits, as well as cover initial expenses for fingerprinting, motor vehicle record (MVR) reports, and required trainings. These costs are necessary to ensure compliance with our standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Service:
Conduct trauma-informed Behavior Aide sessions with clients in the home, office, or in the community. Maintain a caseload consisting of supervised visitations, transport services, and/or social/behavioral/life skills.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed and accurate records of sessions, client progress, and other relevant information. Submit BIRP documentation and contact logs timely within 48 hours of billed service via eCase notes.
Communication:
Collaborate with DFCS staff, LES staff, and associated parties to ensure comprehensive care and effective treatment plans. To include scheduling and coordinating services with families and case managers.
Trauma-Informed Care:
Utilize trauma-informed practices in all interactions with clients to support their emotional and psychological well-being.
Compliance:
Complete required annual trainings, attend required agency meetings & trainings, and conduct services ethically abiding by contract guidelines. Comply with all HIPAA regulations. Maintain patient, team member and employer confidentiality
Mileage Reimbursement:
Track and submit mileage for reimbursement at $0.60 per mile.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services-related field or high school diploma with 5 years’ experience in the human-services field. Human Services degrees are Psychology, Sociology, Counseling (religious counseling is not acceptable) Social Work, Child Development, Community Mental Health, Human Services, Education (experience teaching K-12 grade) Excellent documentation and communication skills. Ability to work independently with a flexible schedule. Commitment to trauma-informed care. Flexible availability including evenings and weekends fulfilling 15 hours/week minimum (part-time) or 30 hours/week minimum (full-time)
Background Check:
Successful completion of a background check is required. You must have no previous investigations or issues that would hinder your ability to work with DHS or families. Current Department of Human Services (DHS) or Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) employees are NOT eligible for this position.
