Contract:

VCSE Closing date: 9am 7th July 2025 Interview date: W/C 14th July 2025 This role involves working with pupils who struggle within mainstream education due to their Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) challenging behaviour, and poor attendance, therefore resilience and dedication is key. We are looking for a highly motivated person with extensive experience of working with young people aged 11 to 16 to join our team as we develop our social prescribing practice in Durham. The Link Worker team provides young people with the opportunities and relationships to enable them to flourish in education and life. Through participation in a broad range of targeted activities and therapeutic support, we re-engage even the most disengaged CYP. The link worker will build trusting relationships with people, create a shared personalised plan for young people and connect them to health services, education support, community groups and VCSE organisations delivering for example, cultural and sporting activities. You must be able to strike up easy positive relationships with children and young people. You will be a good listener, have time for people and be committed to supporting local communities to care for each other. You should have experience of working positively with children facing complex social and emotional challenges. You will have great interpersonal skills in supporting people, community groups and local organisations. For more information and a job pack please contact Sue Wilson.
