Part-time Contractor Job Overview:

As a Life Enrichment Assistant, you’ll be responsible for creating engaging and meaningful activities to enhance the well-being of clients in their homes. Your role will focus on promoting social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and emotional support through personalized and enjoyable experiences. You’ll help create a safe, joyful, and stimulating environment that ensures the client’s physical and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities Activity Planning and Execution:

Develop and implement creative activities tailored to each client’s interests, preferences, and abilities. Organize a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, games, music, cooking, storytelling, sensory exercises, physical activities, and outings.

Social Engagement:

Facilitate opportunities for clients to engage in social interactions, both at home and in the community. Encourage participation in group activities, outings, and social events to foster a sense of community and belonging.

Cognitive Stimulation:

Incorporate brain-stimulating activities such as puzzles, trivia, memory exercises, and brain games to promote mental engagement and cognitive function. Offer gentle prompts and cues to support memory recall and cognitive activity.

Emotional Support:

Create a nurturing environment where clients feel valued, respected, and empowered. Provide companionship, emotional support, and encouragement to help reduce feelings of loneliness, anxiety, or depression.

Ongoing Evaluation:

Continuously assess the effectiveness of activities and make necessary adjustments to meet the evolving needs of clients. Maintain regular communication with clients, families, and management to ensure satisfaction and report any concerns.

Qualifications:

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills with a genuine love for working with people. Kindness, compassion, and patience are essential. Ability to work independently and manage activities in an in-home setting. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record. Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening. Prior experience with dementia care or life enrichment programming is a plus. Experience as a caregiver or in a related field is an advantage.

Compensation:

This is a part-time contractor role with pay rates determined by experience and qualifications. Benefits are not included, but 1099 contractor status will be provided. How to
