Full Job Description Location:

The Florida Division – Lutz, Florida About this opportunity: Serves as liaison between Corps, Divisional Headquarters and Territorial Headquarters providing assistance in the processing/approving of social service program proposals; audits program operations throughout the division to ensure compliance with program standards; assists Corps in securing program funds, evaluating program effectiveness, and performing long-range planning; communicates divisional policies to the field as it relates to both social services and disaster case management/benefits; plans and coordinates annual 1and1/2 day social service conference; coordinates and implements joint ventures in and with community leaders and advisory board members; researches and develops guidelines for field; monitors and watches legislative trends as it relates to social services; coordinates special projects within division and communicates with field operations; supervises department staff; reviews proposals for hiring professional social workers in the field; insures that the mission of The Salvation Army is carried out through social service programs. Participate in coalitions, professional associations and state disaster related organizations.

Key responsibilities:

Provides administrative oversight of the Divisional Pathway of Hope (POH) program; works in consultation with the Territorial POH Director and POH department to ensure divisional and territorial goals are met with fidelity; works collaboratively with the Territorial Pathway of Hope Team to support the implementation of the initiative’s objectives including administrative functions for all providers and units in the division; ensures quality of services through periodic meetings with corps staff and officers focusing on programmatic requirements, including intake processes, intervention strategies, community collaboration and collection of data needed to meet program reporting requirements; plans, coordinates and facilitates monthly POH/case management staff meetings in-person and virtual; prepares monthly reports on progress including challenges, recommendations for improvement and client success stories and provides the status to the Territorial POH Director and the Divisional Program Secretary. Reviews new program opening and closing proposals for accuracy and content, and prepares same for further processing through the Divisional Finance Board and Territorial Headquarters for approval; notifies Corps upon approval and assists in developing and monitoring of program; identifies Affirmative Action language and works with field location and THQ to determine handling; ensures Divisional HR staff is involved and kept up-to-date. Works with Human Resources staff to determine best course of action for Division. Coordinates training for social services throughout the Division on special programs and policies to insure social service workers are abreast of new developments in the Army. Conducts “new Director orientation” as needed, to instruct and familiarize Directors with The Salvation Army and its policies and procedures as it relates to social service programs. What we are looking for in you: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Counseling or a related field required Five years progressively responsible experience administering social service programs and securing funding through government grants and contracts Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW preferred Any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to perform mathematical computations. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
