Our Frank Deluca Y is seeking an energetic Youth DevelopmentDirector to grow their existing Youth programming. Job DescriptionUnder the direction of the Executive Director, the YouthDevelopment Director provides leadership and management of childdevelopment, summer camp, teen and family programming within theFamily Center. The Youth Development Director manages memberparticipation and retention through the development and executionof youth development programs to achieve strategic goals andprovide outstanding customer service to all members. QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; sportsmanagement, recreation management, physical education or relatedfield of study preferred. Minimum 1-3 years of progressivelyresponsible experience in child development, teen, and summer campprogramming preferred. Minimum 1-3 years of progressivelyresponsible experience in staff supervision and leadershippreferred. YMCA sports, youth development, or operations experiencerequired. Knowledge of rules and regulations of each programoffered to members and program participants. Microsoft Officeproficiency required Current CPR/AED and First Aid certificationsrequired. Ability to communicate effectively and professionallywith diverse populations and all levels of management, employees,volunteers and members. Excellent problem-solving and analyticalskills, as well as critical thinking ability. Ability to meetdeadlines and work in a fast-paced multi-priority environment. Mustbe self-directed and able to work effectively and independentlywith little supervision. Essential Functions Implement childdevelopment, summer camp, teen, and parent/child enrichmentprograms that promote retention of existing members and engagementof new members. Direct staff to support youth developmentinitiatives to achieve retention goals. Analyze data, systems andprocesses to recognize growth and retention opportunities withinthe Youth Development department. Ensure proper implementation ofyouth development schedules and procedures to provide maximumopportunities for member/staff connections. Collaborate and workeffectively with all departments to achieve desired results.

Identify and employ best practices in systems and technology tosupport effective management of the Youth Development department.

Utilize available technology, reporting tools and data that enhanceyouth development participation and member retention. Monitor dailyoperations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA of CentralFlorida health and safety standards and policies. Ensure all staffare current with required certifications. Create and implementyouth development programs with an effort to allow participants tocontinue along a succession plan from child development to teenprogramming participation. Increase program participation throughproduct knowledge and interactions with existing and potentialmembers. Collaborate with department leads to maximize enrollmentsin program registration. Plan and execute youth development eventsat the Family Center. Promote the Family Center and the YMCA ofCentral Florida’s special events among the members and community.

Establish and lead a volunteer Youth Development committee thatassists in development and execution of membership retentionefforts. Recruit, select, develop and retain appropriate skilldepth level for the department. Supervise department staff. Supporttraining and career succession plan for the staff team andpositively improve the overall employee experience. Provideleadership through established performance goals and standards,regular assessment of staff performance including annualperformance evaluations, and staff meetings. Collaborate with theExecutive Director to plan and manage the Youth Development budget.

Control payroll and department purchasing costs within the budgetand financial guidelines. Identify and recruit active volunteersfor the Family Center Annual Scholarship Campaign. Promote andrepresent the mission and core values of the YMCA of CentralFlorida in the family center and its programs. Focused on drivingannual revenue through specific monthly goals and personalizedprograms that drive retention. Additionally driving annual revenuethrough staff members by: Membership engagement and retention.

Supervision and leading staff to drive active member engagement.

Provide developmentally appropriate curricula to children, teensand family. Development and implementation of child development andteen programs tailored to specific needs, utilizing innovativeprogramming. All other duties assigned by Management.
