Position Overview The IllinoisDepartment of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized,professional, and results oriented individual to serve as AreaAdministrator of Permanency Services. Subject to managementapproval, this position will oversee Permanency Team Supervisorswho are responsible for comprehensive child welfare servicesthroughout the region. The position provides input into regionalplanning activities for child protection and child welfare andcoordinates community and field office support with itscounterparts in the Child Protection service area. This positionprovides a great opportunity for someone who is passionate aboutchildren and interested in being a leader in the administration ofchild welfare services. Minimum QualificationsRequires an MSW or master’s degree in a related human servicesfield, in business administration, or a juris doctorate. Requiresfour years of progressively responsible administrative childwelfare experience with an MSW OR five years of progressivelyresponsible administrative child welfare experience with a master’sdegree in a related human services field, in businessadministration, or a juris doctorate. Preferred Qualifications 5years of experience managing or conducting child welfare caseworkservices. 3 years of experience supervising professional staff.
Professional experience in the oversight of a large program withmultiple sites or multiple teams of subordinate professional staff.
Professional experience conducting quality review of teamfunctioning. Professional experience in the development andimplementation of policies and procedures. Professional experienceconducting planning activities for a social work program on aregional or statewide basis in a management capacity. Professionalexperience conducting community outreach as a representative of apublic or business organization. Conditions of Employment Requiresthe ability to pass a background check. Requires ability to travelin the performance of duties. Requires appropriate, valid driver’slicense.
