Job Description

Director of Social Services and Volunteer Coordination Peaceful Purpose Hospice Eatonton, GA 31024 • Hybrid work We are seeking a compassionate, driven, and highly personable Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our interdisciplinary hospice team. This role combines traditional hospice social work with responsibilities in volunteer coordination. The ideal candidate is outgoing, presentable, an exceptional communicator, and passionate about patient care, education, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
Psychosocial Support:

Provide emotional and psychosocial support to patients and families coping with terminal illness. Assess psychosocial needs and develop individualized plans of care. Assist with end-of-life planning, advance directives, funeral planning, and bereavement support.

Volunteer Coordinator Duties:

Recruit, train, and supervise hospice volunteers. Match volunteers with appropriate assignments and ensure all documentation and compliance standards are met. Serve as a liaison between the clinical team and volunteer staff.

Public Speaking & Education:

Provide in-services, community education, and outreach. Represent the hospice at health fairs, seminars, and community events. Serve as a knowledgeable and compassionate resource for patients, families, and the community.

Qualifications:

Licensed LMSW or LCSW in the state of Georgia. Hospice experience required (minimum 1-2 years preferred). Demonstrated experience in public speaking, community outreach, or patient/family education. Must be highly resourceful, organized, and a strong team player. Proficient in Microsoft Office and EMR systems. Ability to present professionally and build rapport with people from all walks of life.
