out of 5 stars North Dighton, MA 02764 • Hybrid work The Director of Human Resources and Student Services provides strategic and operational leadership in two critical domains: HR and Student Services. This hybrid role reflects the district’s evolving needs and supports our mission to ensure legal compliance, staff excellence, and student well-being. The Director will work closely with the Superintendent, Central Office Leadership Team (COLT), and District Leadership Team (DLT) to ensure equitable and efficient implementation of policies and procedures across the district. Human Resources Leadership Foster professional growth through membership in the MASPA (Mass Association of School Personnel Administrators) and the AASPA (American Association of School Personnel Administrators). Develop and implement HR policies that align with district goals and current labor law. Provide guidance to the Superintendent on employee relations, compliance, staffing, and contract administration. Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, mentoring, benefits administration, and professional development. Manage employee evaluations, assignments, transfers, and promotions. Serve as district liaison in grievance and disciplinary matters, ensuring timely, thorough, and legally compliant processes. Lead or support the School Committee in collective bargaining and contract negotiations. Supervise personnel records in accordance with federal and state law, including FMLA, ADA, Workers’ Compensation, and CORI compliance. Ensure a positive and professional working environment by supporting proactive employee relations practices. Recommend staffing plans and oversee compensation systems in collaboration with the Superintendent and Business Administrator. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all HR-related interactions. Student Services Leadership Lead investigations and oversight of student discipline, bullying, harassment, and Title IX cases. Serve as the district’s Title IX Coordinator and oversee compliance with Title VI, Section 504, and related laws. Coordinate non-special education PRS (Problem Resolution System) complaints with DESE. Collaborate with principals and legal counsel on enforcement of student handbooks, threat assessments, crisis response, and school safety protocols. Supervise the district’s 504 program, ensuring staff training and legal compliance. Support district safety and security planning, reporting, and incident response. Coordinate annual policy notifications and staff compliance training requirements. Supervise the FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request process and act as liaison to district counsel. Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
