POSITION SUMMARY

The YMCA of Southeastern NC is hiring a Youth Services District Director to lead afterschool programs based in schools, churches, and other community locations. This is an exciting opportunity to join our fastest-growing department and play a vital role in expanding high-quality youth development programs across our region. As District Director, you will oversee multiple off-site afterschool programs, ensuring they run smoothly and effectively. You will manage curriculum implementation, daily schedules, child behavior strategies, and family communication across all assigned sites. You’ll also supervise, mentor, and support Afterschool Site Directors to ensure program excellence. Requirements:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – AFTERSCHOOL 1.

Implements curriculum within the established guidelines. 2. Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans and shares with site directors for use. 3. Directly supervises all site staff within given district; responsible for onboarding, development, supervision, and termination of staff. 4. Adherence to association policies and procedures while operating programs through Daxko operations and Daxko accounting. 5. Assist Sr. Leadership with the development of annual budget. Responsible for management of budget and meeting all budgetary expectations. 6. Responsible for building and maintaining excellent relationships and partnerships between the Y and school district. 7. Ability to make autonomous decisions specifically related to staff scheduling, program development/quality, and children’s behavior. 8. Responsible for daily problem solving of program and scheduling issues. Be available for afterschool site operations to meet with staff and parents should meetings be needed. 9. Have knowledge of and follow all emergency procedures. 10. CACFP and SFSP Programs – Responsible for ensuring taking point of service meal counts are completed daily and accurately and maintaining of records. 11. Maintain harmonious rapport with all staff, volunteers, members, and the general public at all times. 12. Develop and distribute evaluating materials that promote and enhance the programs of the

YMCA. 13.

Know and understand all YMCA policies and procedures ensure that all these procedures are consistently enforced. 14. Assist as needed in emergency situations and as outlined in emergency procedures. 15. Continuously exhibit honesty, caring, respect, responsibility, reliability, maturity, and good decision-making skills. 16. Perform daily administrative work as needed such as filing, copying, record keeping, and organization. 17. Understand the Y’s vision and philosophy and how they support each other. Be a team player who can solve problems and communicate positively with members, share knowledge about YMCA programs with members and the community, and work well with others. 18. Support and actively participate in Annual Campaign. 19. Assist with other projects or activities as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – YOUTH PROGRAMS

The primary focus of this position is to maintain and sustain a phenomenal relationship with the school district through the YMCA Afterschool Program. Under guidance and direction from the Regional Education Director and Youth Services Branch Director, this position may also help in one or more of the following capacities throughout the year: 1. Y Guides 2. Leaders Club 3. Preschool 4. Birthday Parties 5. Parents Night Out 6. Youth & Government 7. Teen Chef 8. Middle School Madness 9. Tutoring Program 10. Summer Camp (helping at pre-existing summer camp location or operating a new summer camp location)
